O akci
We’re happy to join Palestine Cinema Days, organized by @filmlabpalestine , again this year. Together with @petrohradska_kolektiv we will take part in a worldwide simultaneous screening event that celebrates Palestinian cinema and stories that transcend borders.
THE DREAM (1987, 45min) Directed by Mohammad Malas In the Arabic Language there is a phonetic compatibility between the word “Dream” and the word “Film”, and often the person asking and the one answering get them confused, so he use the word Film instead of Dream. Is there is this “Confusion” a kind of Indication?! This documentary filmed in the Palestinian refugees in 1980 is the only one to choose the dream is instead of the reality, since the public was capable to know about their daily share of suffering and death that those uprooted from their homeland. THE FLOWERS STAND SILENTLY WITNESSING (2024, 17min) Directed by Theo Panagopoulos When a filmmaker of Palestinian descent based in Scotland unearths a rarely-seen Scottish film archive of Palestinian wildflowers, he decides to reclaim the footage. This tender film essay questions the role of image-making as a tool of both testimony and violence when connected to entanglements between people and the land. 🗓️2.11.2026 🕗19:00 📍Petrohradská Kolektiv (Petrohradská 438/13) Arabic with English subtitles Free Entry.
