◆ Max Stejskal: Seedy Ethnography - Dunga Beach (2021)
Ethnographic mocument explores relations between facts and narration through the deformed memory on the desktop of a computer. Conversations examine the lifestyle of members of the Kenyan tribe Luo, their mythology, internal functions of their society and show contrast between tradition and turism.
◆ Milan Mazúr: What sort of song managed to make this fog disperse? (2022)
The season of not looking was spoken of. Nobody knew exactly what this nomenclature included, but in part, it was the ignorance of reality or situations that arose between us and them. Those and the others only tried a little. It was August 17th 1914 and I was on a hill, in an unknown country, where you couldn’t see anything. What sort of song managed to make this fog disperse?
◆ Petr Šprincl: Moravia, Beautiful Land (2015)
An experimental western horror film set in Moravian Slovakia brings a new perspective to the legend of St. Wenceslas. Against the shabby backdrop of village merrymaking, the legendary Prince Boleslav, a wine-cellar zombie, fights with his brother over the nature of Czech statehood and a plate of tomato beef stew.
This film essay about the mythology of Bohemian and Moravian nationalism is a sarcastic depiction of meaningless tribal rituals that promote national identity but severely restrict “otherness”. The film sabotages the sanctity of folklore through the use of archaic film and video formats containing a number of mistakes and defects, a schmaltzy mix of brass band music, and the contrapuntal nature of the commentary.

"Etnografický mokument" prozkoumává vratký vztah mezi fakty a vyprávěním skrze deformovanou vzpomínku na desktopu monitoru. Rozhovory nabízí vhled do způsobu života keňského kmene Luo, jejich mytologie, rituálů, vnitřního fungování komunity a ilustrují kontrast mezi tradicí a turismem.
◈ Milan Mazúr: Co je to za píseň, která odkryla mlhu? (2022) 22min
Mluvilo se o období nevidění. Nikdo přesně nevěděl, co to znamená. Zčásti to bylo možné chápat jako ignorování skutečnosti nebo situací, které se odehrávaly mezi námi a nimi. Bylo 17. srpna roku 1914 a já jsem stál na kopci neznámé krajiny, kde nebylo nic vidět.

Experimentální western-horor z prostředí moravského Slovácka přináší nový pohled na legendu o svatém Václavovi. V omšelých kulisách lidové veselice zápasí bájný kníže Boleslav, zombie z vinného sklípku, se svým bratrem Václavem o povahu české státnosti i o talíř s rajskou.
Filmová esej o mýtech českého a moravského nacionalismu je sarkastickým obrazem vyprázdněných kmenových rituálů, které stvrzují národní identitu, ale ostře se vymezují vůči jinakosti. Posvátnost folklóru je ve filmu sabotována archaickými filmovými a video formáty s množstvím chyb a kazů, rozbředlým mixem dechové hudby i kontrapunktem v komentáři.
