'Where the Sun Sets and Where It Rises'

CHAPTER 6
Once upon a time, when the world was still following the laws of nature and the Sun was still moving, a community of apostates settled on a deserted land. The place attracted outcasts of all kinds for some reason, therefore creatures of various origins lived here.
Born to live in seclusion, these creatures were awake only at night. Then they rejoiced and gathered. To stay in harmony with nature, they communicated so that their mutual interactions corresponded with their surroundings. They mimicked the rustle of tree crowns and drew into damp sand with wooden sticks, as if the banks were soaked by rain that created paths in the soil.
Beyond the infrastructures from which they were deported, they gained freedom, thanks to which they did not have to follow the established rules of society. They just had to learn how to perceive and listen to each other and the environment around them, to live together in night harmony.
One day the Sun suddenly stopped moving through the sky. Ali the creatures tensely waited for the night to come, but it never did. The day became endless and the community lost the power to keep living.
Only humans, due to their innate adaptability, were able to adjust to day life. However, they ingrained in the sensitivity of the speechless coexistence so deeply, they never succumbed to the structure of words.

KAPITOLA ŠESTÁ
Kdysi dávno, když se svět ještě řídil pravidly přírody a Slunce bylo v pohybu, usadilo se společenství odpadlíků v opuštěné krajině. Protože místo z nějakého důvodu lákalo vyvržence všeho druhu, žila zde stvoření rozmanitého původu.
Zrozeni pro život v odloučení, tito tvorové byli vzhůru jen v noci. Tehdy se veselili a družili. V souladu s přírodou spolu komunikovali tak, aby jejich vzájemné interakce splývaly s okolím. Napodobovali šelest korun stromů a dřívky kreslili do vlhkého písku, jako když břehy smáčí déšť a vytváří v půdě cestičky.
Za hranicí infrastruktur, ze kterých byli vyhoštěni, nabyli na tomto místě volnosti, díky níž se nemuseli řídit zosnovanými pravidly společnosti. Stačilo jim vnímat i naslouchat - sobě navzájem a prostředí kolem nich, žít tak pospolu v noční harmonii.
Jednoho dne se ale Slunce na obloze zastavilo. Všechna stvoření s napětím vyčkávala noc, ta ale nepřišla. Den pozbyl konce a společenství tak přišlo o možnost žití.
Jenom lidé byli, pro svou vrozenou přizpůsobivost, schopni se adaptovat na život ve dne. Citlivost nemluvného soužití v nich ale zakořenila natolik, že struktuře slov se nikdy nepodvolili.

‘Where the Sun Sets and Where It Rises’ is a narrative exhibition saga in Jedna Dva Tři Gallery. The exhibition cycle is divided into 13 chapters and a prologue. Within this series, artworks of 24 artists will be showcased. The exhibitions are a creative dialogue between the exhibiting artists, who come and intervene in the installation and then leave as the story goes.

‘Where the Sun Sets and Where It Rises’ je výpravná výstavní sága na pokračování. Letošní výstavní cyklus Jedna Dva Tři Gallery je rozdělen do 13 kapitol, ve kterých vystaví dohromady 24 umělců. Výstavy fungují jako tvůrčí dialog umělců, kteří přicházejí a zasahují do instalací, ze kterých pak zase odcházejí tak, jak se vyvíjí celý příběh.
