Since July 2021 Kino Petrohradská cinema has been a place for screenings of retrospectives and current blockbusters, of well-known films and of those, that didn't recieve enough attention in the Czech distribution. Within Petropresents program it has hosted filmmakers and screenwriters from Czechia and abroad, who wanted to share their craft with the audience.
With a heavy heart we would like to welcome you to the final farewell to Kino Petrohradská:
*As a final farewell to Kino our programmer Christopher Small will present Outskirts Film Magazine, a once-yearly print publication on cinema of the past and present. Supported by the Locarno Film Festival, Outskirts is now in its second issue, which runs 189 pages. The presentation will also double as a workshop for creating printed magazines and sustaining the future of writing about culture more generally.
*PLUS as a special treat, we’ll also screen a surprise 16mm print of one of Christopher’s favourite movies from classical Hollywood (91 mins). This will be the last film screened in Kino Petrohradská before the space closes.
