Every second Thursday at 20:30, you'll be able to discover some of the gems of the world of festivals before anybody else, right at Kino Petrohradská in Vršovice. All films will be preceded by introductions from the curator.

Aleph is a travelogue of experience, a journey to fnd that place of connection, of clarity, of understanding across language, geography and experience. The thoughts, ideas and dreams of protagonists in ten countries spanning fve continents are revealed through conversation, activity and contemplation. These collective stories serve as pieces of a puzzle that lead to what the Argentine an writer Jorge Luis Borges called 'the unimaginable universe'.

Iva Radivojevic was born in Belgrade and spent her early years in Yugoslavia and Cyprus. She is an artist and filmmaker who currently divides her time between subarctic Alaska, Brooklyn and Lesbos. Iva's films have screened at the New York Film Festival, New Directors/New Films, Rotterdam IFF, CPH: DOX, Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival, DocLisboa, Museum of Modern Art (NYC), and were commissioned by ARTE La Lucarne and Field of Vision. She is the recipient of the Sundance Art of Non-Fiction Fellowship, Guggenheim Fellowship, NYFA Fellowship, Princess Grace Special Project Award and Film Fellowship. Signatures, or the Bass Line of a Freighter Ship, her chapbook of poems was recently published by Bottlecap Press. She’s currently working on a film set in Serbia.

Petrohradská kolektiv presents their own curated selection of the best of independent world cinema, curated by a screenwriter and critic Christopher Small. It is a selection of films of various formats and sizes: animated musicals, zombie films, art gems and much more. Authors who often received no or minimal attention in the Czech environment in contrast to success abroad.The screening is with an introductory word and a final Q&A after the film with the curator, in some cases the authors of the films will be present.
A writer and film programmer, Christopher is a regular guest and jury member at international film festivals, is the head of the Locarno Academy in Switzerland, critic for a roster of international publications, former programmer at Sheffield DocFest, and the curator of DAFilms in Europe.
