On Thursday, 28 May at 7:30 PM, we are pleased to invite you to the first concert following the opening of the summer season.

‧₊˚♪ 𝄞𝄢₊˚⊹
✩𝑱𝒐𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒂 𝑲𝒍𝒂́𝒓𝒂 𝑲𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒐𝒄𝒉𝒗𝒊́𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒂́ will present a solo concert for cimbalom. Her current artistic practice with the instrument is informed by her background in both classical and experimental music, and remains open to further development. The programme may be understood not as a closed project, but as an ongoing exploration of the possible directions of the cimbalom within her work. In the composition Disunited Synergy, she brings together the sound of the cimbalom, voice, and electronics.
Kratochvílová has received numerous awards for her performance practice and has appeared as a soloist with the Brno Philharmonic, the Karlovy Vary Symphony Orchestra, and the South Bohemian Philharmonic. She also attracted wider attention as a member of the duo Thyme, where, together with Martin Dominik Kratochvíl, she explored the possibilities of the cimbalom in relation to electronic sound.
Her current solo work has been presented within the programmes of Festival Alternativa, Sanatorium Sonorum, LOM space, and Jednota, among others.

✩𝑱𝒐𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒂 𝑲𝒍𝒂́𝒓𝒂 𝑲𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒐𝒄𝒉𝒗𝒊́𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒂́ představí sólový koncert pro cimbál. Její aktuální práce s nástrojem vychází ze zkušenosti s klasickým i experimentálnějším prostředím, ale zůstává otevřená. Spíš než uzavřený projekt jde o hledání toho, kam může cimbál v jejím podání dál směřovat. Ve skladbě Disunited Synergy propojí zvuk cimbálu, zpěvu a elektroniky.
Za svou hru získala řadu ocenění, vystupovala jako sólistka s Brněnskou filharmonií, Karlovarským symfonickým orchestrem nebo Jihočeskou filharmonií a před několika lety na sebe upozornila v duu Thyme, kde společně s Martinem Dominikem Kratochvílem zkoumala možnosti cimbálu ve spojení s elektronikou.
