Jedna Dva Tři Gallery invites you to the opening of the exhibition "You are the one who steals foam and keeps it in their pockets.", which will take place on Monday 29 August at 18:00. We look forward to seeing you!
You are the one who steals foam and keeps it in their pockets.’ is a poetic try to understand the complicated relationship with ourselves, others, and abstract ideologies forcing us to reach norms we don’t want to or simply cannot live with.
We used to wade through the soft mass of delicious bubbles that fizzed in our ears. That foam used to be everywhere, in our lives and our thoughts. It glittered so much in the sun that it blinded us. We couldn’t see anything, but the dazzling light gave us a sense of security and defined the world around us. We used to grow up and live in the foam, we swallowed it and sometimes it penetrated our whole body. It burned our skin a bit, but that was nothing compared to its gentle omnipresence.
But then the foam began to fall and its shine dulled. Without reflecting the sun's rays, it became transparent and revealed the contours of the world below, which we didn‘t know before. We could see the foam-etched limbs that used to only tickle us. In their place was their disfigured forms, along with the wounds from the streets‘ edges, which the soothing effervescent substance used to hide from us. Suddenly, we could see, but our sight scared us. We couldn't look away anymore.
Where did our beautiful foam go? We hopelessly wish for the return of the etching and glaring blindness instead of the healing of our blisters and scars; to softly fall back into the blissful glow enveloping our pain.

Výstava ‘You are the one who steals foam and keeps it in their pockets.’ poeticky uchopuje složitý vztah nás k sobě samým, ostatním a abstraktní ideologii, která nás směřuje k normě, kterou žít nechceme nebo nedokážeme.
Brodívali jsme se měkkou hmotou lahodných bublinek, které šuměly v našich uších. Ta pěna bývala všude v našich životech i našich myšlenkách. Na slunci se leskla natolik, že nás oslepovala a nebylo možné vidět nic kromě zářivého světla, které nám dodávalo pocit jistoty a určovalo svět kolem nás. V pěně jsme vyrůstali, žili, hltali ji a někdy nám prostupovala celým tělem. Naši pokožku trochu leptala, ale to nebylo nic proti její něžné všudypřítomnosti.
Najednou ale pěna začala opadat a její lesk zmatnil. Bez zrcadlení slunečních paprsků zprůsvitněla a odhalila obrysy světa pod ní, který jsme doposud neznali. Pěnou zleptané údy, které nás dřív jen štípavě lechtaly se ukázaly ve své znetvořené podobě spolu s tržnými ranami od hran ulic, které před námi konejšivá šumivá hmota skrývala. Zničehonic jsme viděli, ale náš zrak nás děsil. Už ho nešlo odvracet.
Kam se ta naše krásná pěna poděla? Co bychom dali za návrat leptající zářivé slepoty namísto hojení jizev po puchýřích. Měkce se propadnout nazpět do blaženého lesku zahalujícího naši bolest.
