The tension between the order of textile techniques and the freedom of the intuitive process is reflected here through a raster, which I perceive as a metaphor for a system, its fixed structure, and the possibility of disruption. I work with leftover climbing ropes, rubber pads, technical fabrics, knitwear, and ceramics, combining these materials into new structures oscillating between control and its deconstruction. For me, the raster becomes a symbol of order and its decay, the necessity of adaptation, and the space for escape. The blending of precise technique with improvisation opens up new forms where the industrial meets the organic, regularity meets chaos, and other contrasts that reflect our everyday reality and the inevitable confrontation with societal norms. The process plays a key role here – it represents a fantastic escape into the subconscious, gaining distance from the surrounding world, and seeking calm in today’s absurd reality.

Adela Holešová connects experiment, craftsmanship, and textile approaches. She works with contrasts, material diversity, and seeks balance between structures and concepts. She develops a dialogue between tradition and contemporary practices, with a focus on the process of creation. Her objects blur the boundaries of established categories and open new ways of perceiving corporeality, movement, and material expressiveness.
