CHAPTER 13

The exhausted Shadow rested and watched the Sun in surrender. During their journey, they learned many truths and stories of a ostensible world without cycles. They had traveled a hundred miles, watching all those lives and their miserable afflictions, all in a desire to find their own meaning. Even so, they seemed to be the only entity that is unable to adapt to the chaotic timelessness, as if they were destined not to belong and not to make sense forever, to parasitize in a reality where there is no place for them.

All sorts of ideas of a lost struggle with existence flew through their mind against all their convictions. Give up, surrender. But how? Do they have to travel forever on a path that is not meant for them? To be an eternal mistake in infrastructures without sense?

Sun, you are my enemy, you want me to be empty and wrong.

The shadow longed for a reaction, something that would break the boundless sameness. Looking at the sky, they began to realize their own being. As if the Sun was their opposite, their enemy, but at the same time their only companion. How do I know the Sun is where it feels right? And who is the one who decides my belonging?

Why keep looking for something? Why wander and want to be part of the realm I fight so vehemently? That immutability is destroying me, and I'm trying to grasp it as if it could offer me open arms? Am I insane?

Can't my place be where I make it? After all, I am the Shadow, and as such I can provide refuge to exhausted victims of the rays. Just because the Sun stands, I don't have to find my only place and also stay still. I thought I was looking for myself, but I wanted to find my purpose in an infrastructure that didn't count on me. There is no nonlinear movement, no variable, and no deviation that would accept me in that ubiquitous chaos. And I must be my own conscience and mover.

Sun, you stay where you’ve always been, I can't blindly wait for your movement. I have to be moving, not look for my place, but live with this strange immutability and be the disruption myself. I can hope that the Sun will move, but that may never happen. My task is not to find my place, but to find my own will. I can be anywhere and nowhere. I am the Shadow and the laws of nature no longer apply.

Where does the Sun set and where does it rise?
The question lost its meaning.


 KAPITOLA TŘINÁCTÁ

Vyčerpaný Stín spočinul a odevzdaně pozoroval Slunce. Za svou cestu poznal mnoho pravd a příběhů zdánlivého světa bez koloběhů. Urazil na sta mil, pozoroval všechny ty životy a jejich nuzná trápení, to vše v touze nalézt svůj vlastní smysl. Zdá se, že je i přesto tou jedinou entitou, která není s to se přizpůsobit chaotickému bezčasí, jakoby mu bylo předurčeno navždy nepatřit a nedávat smysl, parazitovat v realitě, kde pro něj není místo.

Myslí mu proti všem přesvědčením prolétaly všemožné představy prohraného boje s existencí. Vzdát se, poddat se. Ale jak? Má snad navždy putovat po cestě, která není určena jemu? Být věčným omylem v infrastrukturách beze smyslu?

Slunce, ty jsi mým nepřítelem, to ty po mně chceš, abych byl prázdným a nesprávným.

Stín toužil po reakci, po něčem, co by prolomilo to bezbřehé stejno. Hledě na nebe si začal uvědomovat své vlastní bytí. Jakoby Slunce bylo jeho protikladem, nepřítelem, zároveň však jediným souputníkem. Jak mohu vědět, že Slunce je tam, kde se cítí být správně? A kdo je tím, kdo rozhoduje o mé patřičnosti?

Proč stále něco hledat? Proč bloudit a proč chtít být součástí jsoucna, proti kterému tak vehementně bojuji? Ta neměnnost mne ničí, a já se snažím ji uchopit jakoby mi mohla nabídnout otevřenou náruč? Pomátl jsem se snad?

Nemůže být mé místo tam, kde si ho vytvořím? Vždyť jsem Stín a jako takový mohu poskytovat útočiště vyčerpaným obětem žáru. Jen protože Slunce stojí, já nemusím najít své jediné místo a také ustát. Myslel jsem, že jsem hledal sebe, ale toužil jsem najít svůj účel v infrastruktuře, která se mnou nepočítá. V tom všudypřítomném chaosu není nelineárního pohybu, proměnné, odchylky, která by mne pohostila. A já musím být vlastním svědomím a hybatelem.

Slunce, ty stůj dál, nemohu slepě čekat na tvůj pohyb. Hýbat se musím já, nehledat své místo, ale sžít se s touto prapodivnou neměnností a ji narušovat. Mohu doufat, že Slunce se dá do pohybu, to se ale možná nikdy nestane. Mým úkolem není nalézt své místo, ale vlastní vůli. Mohu být všude a nikde. Jsem Stín a zákony přírody už dávno neplatí.

Kde Slunce zapadá a kde vychází?
Ta otázka pozbyla smyslu.

Elegy of Ergot is a solo performance, where the central motif lays in a fungal body, that affects the system both on a physical and mind-distorting measure. A love poem to a parasite, that enables the protagonist to access a delirious state, while simultaneously decomposing the flesh.

Staging ritualistic tasks, that intertwine the protagonist’s sense of submerging with nature, and the contrasting, being affiliated to the digital domain. She re-enacts symbolic gestures that deepen her connection with belonging to nature's force. Rather than performing paganistic actions, she seeks to unfurl the enchantment in a far more subjective matter. It ties with her connection to earth and nature, through which she can realize hidden truths, and embody empowerment of her femininity, sensitivity, intuitiveness and inner world of feelings. The elixir, which her actions end up transforming into, is the ultimate goal to reach her zenith of self. For her to reach this state, she is casted to unlock these riddles, through manipulating movement in time and space.


Jette Loona Hermanis, pulsing Baltic blood, is a performance artist and a choreographer, born in 1997, in Tallinn, Estonia. After finishing her studies in SNDO Choreography, Amsterdam, she has since been based in Tallinn and Riga. She received the Estonian Theatre Prize Dance Award 2022 with Johhan Rosenberg for their performance “Eden Detail”.
The "re-enchantment" of a progressively "disenchanted world” has been one of the overriding aspirations of her artistic inquiry. By reviving notions of individuation through archetypal complementariness she has been consistently appealed to a revaluation of the role of the marvellous and the transcendental. Her work is theatrical and romantically classical, yet stuck in a body of an avatar, expressing the aches of a mechanical machine, the pain of a digital golem, an emo Fairytale drenched in mythological symbolism, the frame – post-internet dark romanticism.

CHAPTER 12

The silent tension seemed to have no end. I was waiting for what would happen, I longed for change, for a future that would make some sense. The tensions interwoven with air felt like receding sea before the destructive force of a tsunami.

One, two, three, a pressure wave struck space and I heard the sound of a crackling mirror. The creaking friction of shards made me feel sick yet hopeful. The change was here.

Everything stopped and I started sucking in a new world. But something felt strange.

When I looked at the sky, there was the old familiar enemy. The Sun was shining mockingly from the top and I started to drown into frustration. Once again, I was alone in the middle of a landscape that seemed perhaps even more the same than ever, as if time was running backwards; that unbearable blaze without rest.

All this was to be a thing of the past, the world was to be in balance and I was to be a part of it. Where are you all rushing to? I am trying to follow the clearly defined trajectory of your movement, but it’s hard to orientate myself in the specificity of your steps. The road is sometimes green, sometimes arid, and sometimes it becomes a river from which a fresh wind blows in contrast to the ubiquity of endless heat.

Do I exist in a time loop? Who or what am I? And when?

 KAPITOLA DVANÁCTÁ

Tichá tenze jakoby neměla konce. Čekám, co nastane, toužím po změně, po budoucnosti, která nabyde smyslu. Napětí protkané vzduchem připomíná ústup moře před ničivou silou tsunami.

Jedna, dva, tři, prostorem proletí tlaková vlna a já slyším zvuk praskajícího zrcadla. Skřípající tření střepů ve mně vyvolává nevolnost i naději. Změna je tu.

Vše utichne a já začnu nasávat nový svět, ale něco se mi nezdá.

Když pohlédnu na nebe je tam ten starý známý známý nepřítel. Slunce z vrchu výsměšně sálá a já propadám frustraci. Opět jsem zůstal*a o samotě uprostřed krajiny, která se zdá snad více stejnou, než kdy dřív, jakoby čas fungoval naruby; to nesnesitelné parno bez odpočinku.

Tohle vše mělo být minulostí, svět měl být v rovnováze a já jeho součástí. Kam všichni spěcháte? Sleduji jasně určenou trajektorii vašeho pohybu a nedokážu se zorientovat v konkrétnosti vašich kroků. Cesta je místy zelená, místy vyprahlá, a někdy se stává řekou, od které vane svěží vítr v rozporu se všudypřítomností nekonečného žáru.

Existuji snad v nějaké v časové smyčce? Kdo nebo co jsem? A kdy?

CHAPTER 11

Someone's body shivered in impassioned diligence. Finally, the nonsensical ballast could come to an end and the world would be in balance. They mumbled to themself incoherently.

"Light and darkness, hot and cold." Someone had found a surprising order in the enchantment of dualities.

Shadow watched Someone’s erratic behavior, trying to keep up. They felt free from their contemplative loneliness, believing that perhaps the solution could have only been created in an insane mind. Someone had put the indeterminate state of the present in the absence of time in a clear relationship between antonyms. Shadow indulged in this simplicity, and the more frantic Someone acted, the more peaceful they felt.

Shadow and Someone were looking for a way out of the unchanging realm, both  desperately in reality. Shadow was looking for their place, and Someone was looking for inner peace. Confused sharing, released an unusual connective energy into the atmosphere.

The world began to tremble. For a moment an intense glow deprived everything of tangibility, in the next second all fell into absolute darkness. POOOF. Glitters spread around, and then there was a long silence.

Shadow and Someone stared at each other in excitement.

 KAPITOLA JEDENÁCTÁ

Kohosi v úpěnlivé pečlivosti svrbělo celé tělo. Konečně nastane konec tohoto nesmyslného balastu a svět bude v rovnováze. Nesouvisle si pro sebe brblal*a.

„Světlo a tma, žár a chlad,“ Kdosi nalezl*a řád v uhrančivosti dualit.

Stín zaujatě sledoval Kohosi zběsilé konání a snažil se držet krok. Cítil se být vysvobozen ze své zadumané samoty, uvěřil, že řešení je snad možno stvořit jen v mysli šílence. Neurčitý stav současnosti v absenci času Kdosi postavil*a do jasného vztahu mezi antonymy. Stín se oddal této jednoduchosti, a čím zběsilejší bylo jednání Kohosi, tím větší klid sám pociťoval.

Stín i Kdosi hledali cestu z neměnného, oba si zoufali v aktuální realitě. Stín hledal své místo a Kdosi hledal vnitřní klid. Zmatené sdílení vypouštělo do atmosféry energie neobvyklého spojení.

Svět se začal chvět. Na chvíli intenzivní záře připravila vše o hmatatelnost, v další vteřině se dění propadlo do absolutního temna. PUF. Po okolí se rozlehl třpyt a pak bylo dlouho ticho.

Stín a Kdosi na sebe vzrušeně hleděli.

Active since 2009, Scannt has been a staple of the Prague electronic scene. His deep techno tracks have been released on Come In records, Harmony Rec. and formed the sound of those events. Except for his techno output he focuses a lot on the ambient side of music, where lies his true strength. With his modular synth he is able to produce captivating walls of drone, dark, brooding heavy and trance-inducing music.

Summer and fall in the courtyard at Petrohradská Kolektiv will be a showcase of live acts with the focus being on contemporary music production. We will present a broad variety of quality acts from the Czech alternative scene, ranging in genre from electronics, to pop, to country. Dramaturgy oversight will be handled by music producer, scenic and film music composer and member of music promoters collective – Wrong- Mojmir Mechura.
Aktivní od roku 2009, Scannt se stal stálicí pražské elektronické scény. Jeho techno tracky vyšly na Come In Records, Harmony Rec. a formovaly zvuk jejich eventů. Kromě svých techno věcí se však zaměřuje i na ambientní žánr, kde se skrývá jeho největší síla. Se svým modulárním synthem je schopný vyprodukovat temný a hutný pohlcující drone, navozující stav transu.

Léto a podzim na dvoře Petrohradská kolektiv s cyklem živých koncertů, se zaměřením na současnou hudební produkci. Má za cíl představit různorodost a kvalitu české alternativní scény napříč širokým žánrovým spektrem od elektroniky, přes pop až ke country. Dramaturgického vedení se zhostil již druhým rokem Mojmír Měchura, hudební producent, tvůrce scénické a filmové hudby a člen pražského kolektivu Wrong.

Hudební program v rámci živého umění Petrohradská kolektiv je podpořen v roce 2021 Ministerstvem kultury ČR,
Magistrátem hlavního města Prahy, Městské části Prahy 10.
