Two-month residency
at Nida Art Colony.
About NAC residency program
The residency at Nida Art Colony of Vilnius Academy of Arts (NAC) offers selected participants the opportunity to live and work in Nida, Lithuania, for two months. The program aims to provide participants with the time, space, and focus to develop their artistic practice while engaging in an exchange with other artists and researchers (up to 5 artists at the time). NAC is open to professionals across various disciplines, including visual arts, design, architecture, research, theory, performing arts, sound, material research/craft, and film. Proposals from practitioners in other fields are also welcome.
During the residency, four mentoring meetings and/or studio visits with Lithuanian-based artists and curators will be organized. While NAC does not regularly facilitate exhibitions or studio visits, residents are encouraged to propose and develop activities that enrich the NAC environment of exchange and collaboration.
Artists are expected to participate in at least one public presentation of their work during the residency.
NAC is situated within the Curonian Spit, a UNESCO World Heritage Site characterized by its unique landscape of sand dunes and forests. NAC, a subdivision of Vilnius Academy of Arts, functions as a hybrid organization, offering a space for art education, production, and research. It has been active since 2011 and has hosted various international art and research projects, including the commissioning of the Lithuanian pavilions at the Venice Biennale.
