Karolina Rybačiauskaitė (b. 1992) is a researcher currently living between Vilnius and Prague. She studies Ph.D. in Philosophy at Vilnius University, also graduated in History and Theory of Art at Vilnius Academy of Arts. Her research is motivated by the instability of knowledge-making and by searching for the ways to take care of the complex patterns it creates. This involves studying the speculative account of ‘ecology of practices’ proposed by Isabelle Stengers, but also adding to it through various practical engagements with artistic and curatorial reworkings of their matters.
“In this recent publication (to be printed January 2021) created as a part of my residency at Artist-in-Residence 2020 Petrohradska kolektiv in Prague, I wanted to share a few thoughts on how ‘matter matters’ within artistic practices, but at the same time, it was my attempt to experiment with the ways of presenting research and let the reader trace it as it was evolving – through various forms of notes, readings, writings, and conversations.”
Zine is available for free download in PDF format and the printed version will be available after the new year in selected stores (location to be specified).

Karolina Rybačiauskaitė (1992) je výzkumnice, která v současnosti žije mezi Vilniusem a Prahou. Studuje filozofii na univerzitě ve Vilniusu, kde také dříve na tamní akademii vystudovala historii a teorii umění. Její výzkum je motivován nestabilitou poznávání a hledání způsobů péče o komplexní vzorce, které vytváří. To zahrnuje studium spekulativního popisu „ecology of practices“ navrženého Isabelle Stengers, ale také jeho doplnění prostřednictvím různých praktických střetnutí s uměleckými a kurátorskými reinterpretacemi.
„V této nedávné publikaci, (která má být vytištěna v lednu 2021) vytvořené v rámci mého pobytu Artist-in-Residence 2020 Petrohradská kolektiv v Praze, jsem se chtěla podělit o několik myšlenek a sice, jak moc ‘záleží na okolnostech’ v uměleckých postupech, ale zároveň to byl můj pokus experimentovat se způsoby prezentování výzkumu a nechat čtenáře sledovat, jak se výzkum vyvíjel - prostřednictvím různých forem poznámek, čtení, spisů a rozhovorů. “
Zine je k dispozici ve formátu PDF jako bezplatný download. Tištěná verze zinu bude dostupná po novém roce ve vybraných obchodech (místo bude upřesněno).
